The story behind CameraCords

The first CameraCord was created in 2018. But the story behind the cord starts in 2017 when photographer Marcel Kerdijk traveled through Estonia and a small drama occurred.

In the old town of Tallinn, he saw the colorful doors and enthusiastically started taking photographs, handheld and without a camera strap. During a moment of inattention, his camera slipped from his hand. Fortunately, the damage was minimal, but he realized that using a wrist strap would no longer be an unnecessary luxury.

He started looking for a simple strong wrist strap and tried several straps, but couldn't find the right one. At the beginning of 2018, he decided to make one himself and after eight months of development and testing, the first CameraCord was ready. Thinking other photographers might benefit from it too, he posted a few CameraCords on his website. Due to lack of time, further development was suspended.

That changed at the beginning of 2020. Due to the Corona epidemic, his other work decreased further, giving him more time for CameraCords. The color range has been expanded and social media accounts were created for CameraCords. Sales has increased considerably, mainly thanks to word-of-mouth advertising from enthusiastic users. In 2022, a new milestone was reached, since the start, 500 CameraCords were sold.

As in today, every CameraCord is still handmade and CameraCords has proven itself as a reliable brand.
